PSSA Historic Data: 2017 to 2021

Last week we looked at the 2022 PSSA data for 8th graders across the district. Today we're going to look at the historical data as we follow those 8th graders back in time to when they were:

Fugett 7th graders in 2021. Lower scores reflect the effects of months of closed schools and/or hybrid schooling.

  • 57.5% of all Fugett 7th graders scored basic/below basic in math.

  • 86.7% of Historically Underperforming Fugett 7th graders scored basic/below basic in math in 2021.

Fugett 6th graders in 2020. The year of no PSSAs due to the pandemic.

*East Bradford 5th graders 2019. The last year of PSSA data that reflects pre-pandemic life.

  • 41% of East Bradford 5th graders scored basic/below basic in math.

  • 64.5% of Historically Underperforming East Bradford 5th graders scored basic/below basic in math in 2019.

*Exton 4th graders in 2018.

  • 31.7% of 4th graders at Exton scored basic/below basic in math.

  • 72.2% of Historically Underperforming 4th graders at Exton scored basic/below basic in math in 2018.

*Glen Acres 3rd graders in 2017. This is the first year students are able to take the PSSAs. This data reflects a baseline/foundation that students will build upon year after year.

  • 30.9% of Glen Acres 3rd graders scored basic/below basic in math.

  • 40.7% of Historically Underperforming Glen Acres students scored basic/below basic in math.

Tomorrow's post will synthesize this data together, giving a snapshot of academic decline over the last six years.

*East Bradford, Exton and Glen Acres feed into Fugett, thus giving us a glimpse of the Fugett population as elementary school students.
