Insider Info on Alain
As the PAC Chair for Back to Basics, I have had the pleasure of getting to know our candidates over the last several months. What started out as a job (getting five new faces elected to the board) has turned into an adventure, and I can honestly say that I have made five new friends, all of whom I genuinely like as humans!
I have learned a lot about our candidates in recent months and thought it might be helpful for me to share the human side of who they are . . . to share things that you won't see on their resumes or bios.
Alain is a busy dad to four kids, yet he always seems to be calm and patient, never seems to be frazzled, rarely appears to be rushed, and makes you feel like he has all the time in the world to have a conversation. I really appreciate that Alain is logical and detail-oriented. He takes time out of his busy schedule to read every single Back to Basics blog post, and he let's me know when he encounters a typo or a mis-directed link. Everyone needs an editor (myself included) and I appreciate that he has taken on this task without me having to ask! Alain is someone who sees a need and jumps in right away to help, wholeheartedly saying "yes" when something needs to get done. I also really appreciate that Alain is reasonable: he quickly understands problems, will spend his lunch hour on the phone brainstorming solutions, and then accepts the proposed solution quickly and without drama. Even when he is not fully in support of the solution, he is able to be reasonable about the situation and will do what is needed to move forward as quickly and purposefully as possible. I am incredibly thankful to have him on our team!
