Alain is currently serving as the executive director for a nonprofit focusing on higher education, and has extensive experience in leading nonprofit agencies through changes and challenges. Skilled in finance, operations, and organizational development, he has worked in the areas of early childhood health and education, and in the area of social services for the immigrant and low income communities. Known for integrity and accountability, and being exceptionally organized and disciplined, Alain will bring these skills with him if he is elected to serve on the school board.

Alain has dedicated his professional career to the service of others, sparked by his early volunteer experience as an inner-city teaching assistant and after-school program manager. Alain’s extensive experience in nonprofits and the interwoven nature of state and federal bureaucratic funding will be a useful asset when it comes to managing a $300+ million-dollar district budget.  Should he be elected, Alain’s talents and skills in these areas will be an asset to the WCASD school board.

Alain is thrilled at the opportunity to help students achieve their highest potential. He is passionate about equal opportunity for all students, and believes that courses should offered at various levels to help maximize each student's individual potential and innate talents. Alain believes that rewarding merit is crucial. He would like to see more transparency at every level, whether it be in the area of teacher training, library books, in the fiscal or in curricula. Alain feels that it is crucial to build and maintain trust between parents, teachers and school board.

Born in Cuba, Alain and his family emigrated to the United States when he was an infant. As such, Alain takes his responsibility as an American very seriously and is seeking public office as a way to give back to the country that has given him a home and a better life. Alain and his wife have lived in Chester County for almost twenty years, and have 4 children, 2 currently attending WCASD schools with the other 2 soon to be attending.
